── THE QUIET THAT FOLLOWS
When flowers fade, grief remains.
In the beginning, people show up. They send flowers. They bring meals. They write kind messages.
And it matters. It truly does.
But after a few weeks, life moves on. The messages stop. The silence grows louder.
And the person grieving is left carrying something the world no longer sees.
Because grief doesn't end after the funeral. That's often when it begins.
── WHAT THIS IS
A different kind of support.
Feathers from Florence was created for the long stretch that follows loss. Not as a one-time gift — but as a gentle, ongoing ritual of care.
Each month, a meaningful delivery arrives, offering words, reflection, comfort, and a quiet reminder that someone is still thinking of them. Each month, a meaningful delivery arrives, offering words, reflection, comfort, and a quiet reminder that someone is still thinking of them.
Like a soft place to land. A gentle hand on the shoulder. A reminder that grief and light can coexist.
What arrives each month.
Every delivery is thoughtfully curated to create a moment of pause, comfort, and connection.

── MORE THAN A LETTER ──
This is not just mail.
It is a monthly ritual of comfort and companionship.
— a way to say, “I haven't forgotten you.”
── FOR THE PERSON WHO WANTS TO HELP
A way to stay.
When someone you love is grieving, it is hard to know what to do. You don't want to say the wrong thing. You don't want to disappear, either.
Feathers from Florence gives you a meaningful way to continue showing up — gently, thoughtfully, and consistently. A presence they can feel each month, without pressure to reply.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can say is, “I'm still here.”
── A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
The story behind
Feathers from Florence.
After my darling heart passed away, grief didn't just feel painful — it felt isolating.
Later, I began painting feathers and writing letters — small, gentle reminders of presence, hope, and healing. Feathers from Florence was born from that moment. Not to fix grief. But to offer companionship within it.
The name Florence felt right because it holds so much of what this work is about — beauty, tenderness, creativity, care, and the quiet possibility of life continuing through change. Florence is also connected to flourishing and blossoming. Not in a way that rushes grief or asks someone to “move on,” but in the softer sense of still blooming, even after loss.
That is why these letters are signed from Florence. Florence is not a person telling you what to do. She is a gentle presence. A quiet companion. A soft place to land — a reminder that even in grief, something tender can still grow.
People showed up in the beginning with flowers, messages, and support. But after a few weeks, it became quiet. Too quiet.
What I needed wasn't a one-time gesture. I needed something that stayed.
I travelled to Florence carrying the weight of grief, legal processes, and a life that no longer felt recognisable. One afternoon, in a quiet piazza, I found a single black and white feather resting in the late afternoon sun.
There was no wind. No bird above. Just that one small, quiet thing waiting.
And for the first time in months, something inside me softened. That feather became a reminder that love still existed inside the loss.
